About Public Wi-Fi
Mauritius Telecom has provided carrier-grade, public Wi-Fi service offered to all Mauritians through various Wi-Fi hotspots deployed across Mauritius in collaboration with Ministries and Government bodies.
The company has acted as the engine of growth of the ICT sector in Mauritius, supporting the country’s efforts to promote free broadband access. Wi-Fi sites have been installed in Mauritius and Rodrigues at key locations, like Hospitals, Community Centres, Village Halls, National Parks, amongst others.
Scope of work
The scope of work included:
Planning and Design
Conduct site surveys and design the network layout. Dimension centralised Wi-Fi platform, design landing page and draft customer journey.
Deployment
Perform cabling works, configure and install access points.
Testing
Conduct end-to-end flow testing with all makes of end devices available on the market.
Maintenance
Monitor the network, troubleshot in case of downtime and provide ongoing support.
Training and Handover
Train staff and complete project handover.
